DESCO Prepaid Meter Bill Rate: Current Rate

The DESCO prepaid meter bill rate varies slightly depending on the voltage level. The higher the voltage, the higher the bill rate and vice-versa.

The electricity tariffs supplied by Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO) are under the regulation of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission. The commission has the backing of Act No. 13 of 2003 to regulate the bill rate.

However, it is important to note that these bill rates may vary from time to time in line with government policies and programs. Meanwhile, it is important to note that the electricity tariff that we’re going to be discussing is solely for wholesale or bulk bill rates since there is no uniform consumer bill rate.

Additionally, we’re also going to look into the monthly minimum power factor (PF) surcharge rates as they concern all of Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO). Let’s get started.

So, if your power supply falls below 0.9 PF, DESCO will pay a surcharge for it.

It is also important to note that DESCO are meant to pay their bulk electricity on first each month with a fixed surcharge of 1%.

Conclusion

Understanding the DESCO prepaid meter bill rates is crucial for anyone navigating their electricity costs. With rates fluctuating based on voltage levels and subject to regulatory changes, staying informed can help you better manage your energy expenses.

As you consider your electricity usage, remember that a higher power factor can save you from these surcharges, making it worthwhile to monitor your consumption habits. By being proactive and keeping an eye on your tariff and usage patterns, you can not only avoid unexpected charges but also make smarter energy choices.

In the end, knowledge is power—especially when it comes to managing your electricity bills. Stay updated, be mindful of how you use electricity, and you’ll be in a better position to handle whatever changes come your way.
