Eskom Prepaid Meters

Eskom prepaid meters are among the most popular prepaid meter brands in South Africa. The meter has been in use for over three decades and the company has installed over 4.3 million prepaid meters for their customers.

Like other prepaid meter brands, Eskom Meters allows electricity consumers to pay for their electricity in advance. This means that their users can pay for their electricity upfront.

The meter offers transparent electricity billing because it records when and how much electricity you consume at any given point in time and continually deducts the consumed electricity credit until your electricity units exhausts.

Eskom prepaid meters are automated such that they interrupt power supply automatically when your prepaid credit reaches zero and continue power supply once you buy a new credit and recharge the meter.

With this, you can monitor and track your electricity consumption in near real-time.

There is also two-way communication between Eskom and the meter. This communication helps Eskom read your meter information remotely; they will be able to detect power outages, bypasses, and any other unlawful activity and take action accordingly.
