IBEDC Prepaid Meter

The IBEDC prepaid meter is a modern and automated electricity metering system that is used for measuring, monitoring, tracking, recording, and managing electricity consumption. The prepaid meter works on the pay-as-you-go model, allowing electricity users under IBEDC to pay for their electricity usage in advance.

The IBEDC covers regions like Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara, and parts of Niger, Kogi, and Ekiti states. So, if you’re an electricity consumer within this zone who uses a prepaid meter for electricity management, you’ll be able to pay for energy consumption upfront, which will definitely help you stay on top of your electricity budget and manage it more efficiently.

Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) doesn’t produce prepaid meters; they only give out prepaid meters to consumers under their coverage to help them manage their energy usage as a DISCO. This means that IBEDC disburses meters from popular brands like Mojec, Conlog, Longi, etc. to users. As sequel to this, electricity consumers under IBEDC may be using different prepaid meter brand for their energy management. But the bottom line is that IBEDC only gives out quality prepaid meters to consumers, irrespective of the meter brand.

IBEDC Prepaid Meter

IBEDC prepaid is a kind of electricity billing system where consumers pay for their energy consumption before using it. The system is designed to allow consumers to only pay for the electricity they consume. Unlike the postpaid electricity system, where you’ll pay for your electricity consumption after using it, the prepaid system is different since you pay for your consumption upfront, allowing you to have full control of your electricity consumption.

The IBEDC prepaid plan uses advanced metering for electricity billing and management. The IBEDC prepaid meter is automated. So, the prepaid meter will handle electricity billing, automatically disconnect you from the power supply when necessary, and at the same time reconnect you when you top up again.

This means that if you start using the meter, nobody will ask you to pay the light bill again since the meter will automatically disconnect you when your credit balance reaches zero. The IBEDC prepaid meter uses an electricity token, so to use the meter, you’ll need to buy a prepaid token from reliable sellers and load it into your meter before your meter can function.

However, as you continue to consume electricity, the prepaid meter will deduct the number of credit units you have used until you exhaust it. Once exhausted, the meter will cut you off from the power supply until you load another prepaid token.
